About Me
I am Esteban De La Fuente, a Chilean software developer with twenty years’ experience building technology that streamlines processes and drives growth. I founded and currently run SASCO SpA (2015–present), leading the creation of SaaS products such as LibreDTE, API Gateway, ContaFi, BHExpress, and BillMySales, used by thousands of companies in Chile and abroad. My daily work blends system architecture, hands-on coding in PHP, JavaScript, and Python, and company-wide process automation.
Technically, I adhere to KISS, SRP, DRY, YAGNI, and TDD. I rely on Docker, Git, Linux, and PostgreSQL, complemented by AWS and DevOps practices, to deliver robust, maintainable software.
A committed free-software advocate, I have promoted community projects and delivered in-person talks at events like FLISoL in Santiago and Viña del Mar. In 2021, I published “LibreDTE: Software Tools and Support for Electronic Invoicing in Chile” at the IEEE/ACM SCCC, underscoring my drive to share knowledge and open code whenever the business model allows.
Academically, I studied several years of Engineering at UTFSM and graduated in Telecommunications from UNAB. I completed 94% of a Master’s in Computer Science. Currently, I am finalising an MBA at the University of Chile. My time as a university lecturer and system administrator honed my skill for explaining complex topics clearly.
I am pragmatic and collaborative: I trust people, delegate responsibility, and treat mistakes as opportunities for improvement. I welcome invitations to speak, consult, or advise on automation, Austrian economics, or civic-education projects. If your initiative needs technical vision with social impact, let’s talk.
